DeWitt County Jail Visitation

Visitation is scheduled by phone. The sheriff jail page says to call 217-935-2913 between 8:00 and 11:00 on the day of the visit. In-person visiting days are Thursdays and Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Visits are 20 minutes. Visitors ask for afternoon or evening and receive an assigned time. Late visitors are not admitted and are not rescheduled the same day.

Contact DeWitt County Inmates

Mail must include the detainee's full name and a return address with the sender's full name and address. Letters that do not meet that standard are marked return to sender. The jail page says internet printouts and newspaper clippings are not allowed, and magazines, newspapers, sexually oriented pictures, and sexually oriented books are not accepted.

Books, games, and puzzles may be dropped off at any time, but hardback books are not accepted. Games and puzzles must be new and unopened. Once accepted, they become jail property. All visits, phone calls, Chirps, video visits, and mail are subject to monitoring by corrections staff.
